Project Early Kindergarten
Project Early Kindergarten (PEK) is the same curriculum used in all St. Paul Public Schools pre-k programs. PEK centers around Early Childhood Workshop (ECW). ECW means that your child will participate in greeting, ease into the day, sign-in, morning meeting, small group, active learning/choice time, and regroup to revisit. Through this curriculum, preschoolers learn math, vocabulary, rhyming, alliteration, book and print knowledge, and alphabet knowledge. Rainbow has been a part of this program since 2008, attending nearly 300 hours in training a participating in comprehensive coaching sessions. The Minnesota Reading Corps NOW RECRUITING LITERACY TUTORS FOR THE MINNESOTA READING CORPS. IF INTERESTED PLEASE VISIT RAINBOW NEWS. Minnesota Reading Corps (MRC) is a statewide initiative to help every Minnesota child become a successful reader by the end of 3rd grade. The program places AmeriCorps members as literacy tutors at our center and across Minnesota to implement a researched-based early-literacy effort to help struggling readers. The ultimate goal of MRC is to help children become readers at or before grade 3 as this is a huge early indicator for successful adults. For the 2012-2013 school year, Rainbow has been awarded a Professional Corps Literacy Tutor (for a teacher qualified person already working our program) and a Community Corps Literacy Tutor (a part-time AmeriCorps volunteer). NAEYC
Rainbow CDC is accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This is the highest quality standard for the care and education of young children and Rainbow joins less than 10% of all centers in the nation able to achieve NAEYC accreditation. Rainbow embraces NAEYC's 10 Program Standards and incorporates all of the high ideals of each standard into everyday practice. These include:

Sparc
Sparc's mission is to create and maintain healthy, affordable and sustainable neighborhoods by improving residential and commercial vitality in the Hamline Midway, South Como and North End neighborhoods of Saint Paul. Rainbow has partnered with Sparc (formerly the Neighborhood Development Center) on many projects that have improved both Rainbow and the community. Some of these projects throughout the years have included leadership development classes, physical improvements to our facility, and paint for our fence. Learn more about Sparc by clicking here. District 6 District 6 Council serves North End/South Como Neighborhoods. Their mission is to continue to improve the quality of life in the community by supporting active and engaged residents with programming that educates, develops leadership and promotes participation. Children's First Finance
Children's First Finance helps children, families and communities thrive by increasing the availability, affordability and quality of early care and education throughout the United States. Rainbow has partnered with Children's First Finance in grant writing, practical budgeting, and best practices in child care for over 10 years. CRWD
The Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD) strives to protect, manage and improve the District's water resources by monitoring stormwater quality, issuing erosion control and permanent stormwater management permits to development sites, installing permanent stormwater best management practices (BMPs) that reduce stormwater runoff and remove pollutants, providing water quality improvement grants to residents, supporting citizens who engage in water quality protection practices, and more. Rainbow is in the process of securing CRWD funds to complete rain garden plans on-site that will help to maintain the integrity of healthy water flow both on our property, throughout our neighborhood, and residually throughout Minnesta and beyond.
